Beautiful Sleeveless Sparkly Tulle A-Line Wedding Dress
Features Feminine Floral Appliques on a Figure-Flattering Bodice
My story: I researched wedding dresses for months before visiting New York City’s fashion district for my many wedding dress appointments at various shops and boutiques I had picked out. I visited shops and tried on dresses, and none seemed to fit what I was looking for. At my appointment at Designer Loft NYC, I saw this dress and instantly fell in love. It was (and still is) the most beautiful dress I had ever seen and after trying it on, I knew for sure it was the one. I bought it right away and canceled all my other appointments.
Dress details: I was interested in both ball gowns and A-line dresses, where I wanted a fun and flowy skirt that didn’t just fall flat like any normal dress but also didn’t stick out like a big poof ball. The dress is a perfect balance between an A-line and a ballroom Princess style, where the tulle skirt flows and poofs out a little but not too much. It has a flattering sweetheart neckline with detailed embroidered floral and beaded embellishments across the bodice. The embroidered flower design cohesively continues down the skirt. This embroidery and beading is my favorite thing about this dress because it is so beautiful, intricate, and unique. I didn’t want a completely plain, boring dress and I didn’t want anything that looked tacky and gaudy, and this design adds some glamour but still looks refined and mature.
The outer tulle skirt layers sparkle, especially at the bottom. It is just the right amount of sparkle to pop but not dominate the dress. The gorgeous embroidery design continues along the back and is accented by a vertical row of delicate buttons. The straps also maintain the floral embroidery, bringing a romantic elegance to the shoulders. I did not want to wear a strapless dress or a dress with too much sleeve, and I was worried that a dress with “spaghetti straps” would look too casual, so these straps were exactly what I needed.
Alterations: Fortunately, this dress fit me pretty well to start with. The straps were taken in a little and the skirts were too long, so they were cut to fit my height in my shoes. The bustle was also set up, so the train can be easily bustled for the reception.
Wear and tear: This dress was worn once at my wedding ceremony and reception and has no flaws or wear except for some dirt under the train from taking photos outside. The last photo shows the dirt stains on the bottom of the back of the train, this is not seen when the dress is bustled.
