Beautiful Timeless Off-the-Shoulder Satin Mermaid Wedding Dress

I loved wearing my wedding gown and did not want to take it off! Because I was a mature, 50-something bride, I tried on several simple styles with little to no train, but as soon as I was zipped into this gown I knew it was the one. My dear girlfriend who accompanied me to the bridal salon started to cry when I stepped out of the dressing room!

I tend to choose classic, elegant silhouettes with a nod to the 1950's and 1960's. This dress has an updated Marilyn Monroe vibe, as you can see by the way it accentuated my curves. I adore the satin-covered buttons that extend down the back of my gown, from the top of the bodice to the end of the train.

Alterations: I stand 5'3" tall and wore shoes with 4 inch heels on my wedding day. The gown was altered so that I could walk without tripping on the length, and the train was altered proportionately. 8 satin-covered buttons were added along with loops to bustle the train. The bodice and sleeves were not altered. At the advice of the bridal salon, I visited a specialty bra shop where I purchased a strapless, backless longline bra in size 32D. The gown has soft cups in the bodice, as well.

Condition: I gently hand-washed my gown and petticoat, following instructions I found on YouTube, so I have been able to examine the entire gown very carefully. There are no pulls or tears in the fabric and all of the buttons are intact, and the zipper is fully functional. There are a few small smudges on the skirt, mostly near the bottom of the skirt.

Included with the gown will be my simple, raw-edge cathedral veil and a trumpet petticoat, size small. I will also include the garment bag.

Designer Description: Exquisite from every angle, this satin mermaid wedding dress is full of look-again details like cuffed off-the-shoulder sleeves and a row of fabric-covered buttons trailing from the bodice to the chapel train.
